Free ATS Resume Checker for Frontend Developers

Recruiters hiring frontend developers usually shortlist on JavaScript or TypeScript and a framework like React or Angular, then look for interfaces you built and how well they work for users. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which frontend skills it shows, and what to improve before you apply.

By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level

Fresher / 0-2 years

Show HTML, CSS, JavaScript and one framework, backed by 2-3 deployed projects with live links. A responsive app that calls a real API says more than a to-do list copied from a tutorial.

2-5 years

Show screens and features you owned in production - state management, API integration, component libraries, tests - and anything you improved, like page load time or accessibility.

5+ years

Show frontend architecture work - design systems, build tooling, performance budgets, migrations between frameworks - and how you set standards, reviewed code and guided other developers.

Common Frontend Developer resume mistakes

  • Only listing frameworks. "React, Redux, Tailwind" without what you built with them leaves recruiters guessing.
  • Portfolio links that are broken, slow or not mobile-friendly. For a frontend role, your own site is part of the resume.
  • Saying "pixel-perfect UI" and "responsive design" without any example of a product, screen or user it was for.
  • Ignoring performance and accessibility. A line on Lighthouse scores, bundle size or WCAG fixes sets you apart from most frontend resumes.
  • Designing the resume itself with columns, colour blocks and graphics. ATS tools can scramble these - keep the visual flair for your portfolio.

Weak vs strong resume bullet points

The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.

Weak: Developed UI using React.

Strong: Built the checkout flow in React and TypeScript for an e-commerce app, with form validation and Jest tests, used by about 40,000 customers a month.

Weak: Improved website performance.

Strong: Cut the home page's load time from about 5 s to under 2 s by lazy-loading images, code-splitting routes in Next.js and removing two unused libraries.

Weak: Made reusable components.

Strong: Created a shared component library with Storybook for 3 product teams, which replaced duplicated buttons, forms and modals and made new screens faster to build.

Frequently asked questions

How should a fresher frontend developer show projects on a resume?

Pick 2-3 projects, each with a live link and a GitHub link, and one line on what it does and the stack. Mention anything beyond the basics - API calls, authentication, responsive layouts or tests. Projects close to real products, like a dashboard or booking app, read better than clones.

Should I learn React or Angular for frontend jobs in India?

Both are widely asked for - React is common at product startups, while Angular still appears in many enterprise and service company roles. Check the job descriptions you are targeting and put that framework first on your resume. Strong JavaScript fundamentals carry over to either.

Is this resume checker free?

Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.

What does the checker look at?

It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.

What happens to my resume after I upload it?

It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
