Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how RoleMapr ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our website and services at rolemapr.in (the "Platform"). By using RoleMapr, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information - username, email address, and a securely hashed password when you sign up.

Profile information - details you choose to add such as skills, experience, education, and career preferences.

Resume data - the PDF resume(s) you upload, and information extracted from them (skills, experience, contact details) for matching and analysis.

CVs checked on our homepage - a CV uploaded through the free CV check on our homepage, the information extracted from it, and the email address it is saved under (see section 3).

Usage data - pages visited, jobs viewed/saved, applications tracked, search queries, and similar activity within the Platform.

Technical data - IP address, browser type, and device information, used for security (e.g. rate limiting, fraud prevention) and diagnostics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• ▸To create and manage your account, including email verification and password reset.
• ▸To match your resume against job listings and compute skill-gap insights.
• ▸To track your job applications and personalise your dashboard.
• ▸To send you transactional emails (verification, password reset, security alerts) - we do not send marketing emails without your consent.
• ▸To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
• ▸To maintain and improve the Platform's features and performance.

3. Resume Processing & Visibility to Recruiters

Uploaded resumes are validated (file type and size) and processed on our servers to extract text, skills, experience, education, projects, certifications and contact details. The resume file and the extracted data are stored securely.

Your profile is visible to recruiters. Recruiters who hire on RoleMapr can see your candidate profile - the details extracted from your resume and any you add yourself - and can view and download your resume. This is on by default; you can turn it off at any time on your Profile page (Visible to recruiters). Details that only you can provide, such as your current and expected salary and notice period, are shown only after you add them.

CVs checked on our homepage, without an account. When a CV is uploaded through the free CV check on our homepage, we save it and create a RoleMapr candidate profile under the email address written in the CV (or the email entered, if the CV has none). That profile and CV are visible to recruiters on RoleMapr straight away, even if no account is ever created, and are kept until they are removed. We email that address to let its owner know, with a link to set a password and manage the profile, and a link to remove the CV. Please upload only your own CV. If a CV with your email was added without your permission, use the removal link in that email or contact admin@rolemapr.in and we will delete it.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in (authentication tokens) and to remember your theme preference (light/dark). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with:

• ▸Recruiters on RoleMapr, who can see candidate profiles and resumes as described in section 3.
• ▸Service providers who help us operate the Platform - for example, our email-delivery provider (for verification and password-reset emails), our hosting/database infrastructure provider, and Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that CV uploads on our homepage come from a real person.
• ▸Payment processors, if and when you purchase a paid subscription - payment details are handled by the processor and are not stored on our servers.
• ▸Legal authorities, if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or a valid legal process.

6. Data Security

• ▸Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing - we never store your password in plain text.
• ▸All traffic to RoleMapr is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
• ▸Uploaded files are validated and size-limited before processing to protect against malicious files.
• ▸Access to user data is restricted to systems and personnel that need it to operate the Platform.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account data, profile, and resumes for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account, which removes your profile, resumes, applications, and other personal data from our active systems. A CV checked on our homepage without an account is kept, and stays visible to recruiters, until it is removed with the link in our email, until its owner creates an account and deletes it, or until you ask us to remove it.

8. Your Rights

• ▸Access and update your profile information at any time from your dashboard.
• ▸Download or remove your resume(s) whenever you choose.
• ▸Hide your profile from recruiters at any time from your Profile page.
• ▸Remove a CV that was checked on our homepage under your email, using the link in the email we sent, or by contacting us.
• ▸Request a copy of, or correction to, your personal data by emailing admin@rolemapr.in.
• ▸Permanently delete your account and associated data via Settings.

9. Children's Privacy

RoleMapr is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
