Free ATS Resume Checker for Business Analysts

Recruiters hiring business analysts look for requirements work - BRDs, user stories and process maps - along with SQL or Excel, Agile tools like Jira, and the domain you know, such as banking or insurance. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which business analyst skills it shows, and what to improve before you apply.

By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level

Fresher / 0-2 years

Show that you can write clear requirements and work with data - a sample BRD or set of user stories for a real app, plus SQL and Excel. Internships or college projects where you spoke to users and documented a process count.

2-5 years

Show projects you took from requirements to go-live - the stakeholders, the documents you owned, how you supported UAT and what changed for the business. Name your domain clearly.

5+ years

Show scope - programmes or products you shaped, how you handled conflicting stakeholder needs, and how you improved the BA process. Mention analysts you led and decisions your analysis drove.

Common Business Analyst resume mistakes

  • Describing the job as "coordinated between business and IT" without saying what you delivered - documents, decisions or a working system.
  • Not naming the domain. Banking, insurance, retail and healthcare BA roles often filter on domain knowledge.
  • Blurring business analyst and data analyst work. If you mostly built dashboards, say so - and if you mostly wrote requirements, lead with that.
  • Leaving out outcomes - time saved, errors reduced, adoption after go-live.
  • Putting skills and tools in tables or side-by-side columns, which some ATS software reads out of order. A simple list is safer.

Weak vs strong resume bullet points

The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.

Weak: Gathered requirements from stakeholders.

Strong: Ran workshops with operations and credit teams to write the BRD and 45 user stories for a loan origination module, signed off in one review cycle.

Weak: Created process flows.

Strong: Mapped the current and target claims process in BPMN, finding three manual hand-offs that the new system removed, which shortened claim turnaround.

Weak: Supported UAT.

Strong: Wrote UAT scenarios and tracked defects in Jira for a CRM rollout, coordinating 20 business testers and closing all critical issues before go-live.

Frequently asked questions

Which certification is useful for a business analyst resume?

IIBA certifications - ECBA for entry level, then CCBA and CBAP - are the best known for business analysts. Agile certifications such as CSPO or PSPO can help for BA roles in Scrum teams. Clear examples of your work still matter more than any certificate.

Does a business analyst need SQL?

Many business analyst roles in India list SQL, especially in IT services, product companies and banking. You do not need to be a data engineer, but being able to query data to check requirements and test results makes your resume stronger.

Is this resume checker free?

Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.

What does the checker look at?

It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.

What happens to my resume after I upload it?

It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
