Free ATS Resume Checker for Project Managers

Recruiters hiring project managers look at the size of what you delivered - budget, team, timelines - the methods you use, and certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which project management skills it finds, and what to improve before you apply.

By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level

Fresher / 0-2 years

Show projects or workstreams you coordinated - plans, status reports, RAID logs, client calls - even if your title was team lead or coordinator. CAPM or a PRINCE2 Foundation can help at this stage.

2-5 years

Show the projects you owned with their size - team, budget, duration - and how they ended: on time, within budget, scope changes handled. Mention Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery and client management.

5+ years

Show programme or portfolio scope - multiple projects, P&L or margin responsibility, governance, escalations and senior stakeholder management. Mention PMP and the managers you led.

Common Project Manager resume mistakes

  • Writing a list of responsibilities with no project size, budget or outcome.
  • Not stating the domain or type of project - software delivery, infrastructure, ERP rollout, construction. Recruiters filter on it.
  • Using "we" for everything so it is unclear what you personally owned.
  • Leaving certifications without full names, such as "Project Management Professional (PMP)".
  • A creative layout with timelines and charts that ATS software cannot read. Keep dates and titles as plain text.

Weak vs strong resume bullet points

The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.

Weak: Managed a project for a US client.

Strong: Managed a 14-month claims platform rebuild for a US insurer with a 22-member onsite-offshore team, delivering all releases within the agreed budget.

Weak: Handled risks and issues.

Strong: Set up a weekly RAID review with the client and vendors, which surfaced a data migration risk early and kept the go-live date unchanged.

Weak: Responsible for status reporting.

Strong: Replaced emailed Excel status reports with a Jira and Power BI dashboard for 5 workstreams, giving the client steering committee one shared view of progress.

Frequently asked questions

Is PMP or PRINCE2 better for a project manager resume in India?

PMP from PMI is the one most often asked for in Indian and US-client job descriptions. PRINCE2 is more common with UK and European clients. Choose based on where the roles you want are, and list the exact certification name.

How do I show project management experience without the PM title?

Describe the projects you coordinated as if you were the owner of that part - scope, team, timeline and outcome. Team leads, module leads and coordinators often manage plans, risks and clients, so make that work visible in your bullets.

Is this resume checker free?

Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.

What does the checker look at?

It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.

What happens to my resume after I upload it?

It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
