Free ATS Resume Checker for DevOps Engineers
Recruiters hiring DevOps engineers usually shortlist on the toolchain first - Linux, Git, a CI/CD tool, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and one cloud - and then look for proof that you made releases faster or more reliable. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which DevOps skills it shows, and what to improve before you apply.
By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level
Fresher / 0-2 years
Lead with Linux, shell scripting, Git and one CI tool such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions. A small project that builds, containerises and deploys an app to AWS or Azure through a pipeline - with the repo link - shows more than a list of course names.
2-5 years
Show pipelines and infrastructure you owned - how many services or teams used them, how deployments changed, and what you automated with Terraform or Ansible. Mention monitoring and on-call work if you did it.
5+ years
Show platform-level decisions - the deployment model, Kubernetes setup or IaC standards you designed, cost or reliability improvements across teams, and engineers you mentored or onboarded onto the platform.
Common DevOps Engineer resume mistakes
- A long list of every tool you have touched. Recruiters trust a shorter list backed by bullets that show where each tool was used.
- Describing duties instead of results - "maintained Jenkins pipelines" without saying what got faster, safer or cheaper.
- Hiding real DevOps work under a "Build and Release" or "System Administrator" title without making the automation obvious in the bullets.
- Putting skills inside icons, progress bars or a sidebar graphic. ATS software often cannot read them, so keep skills as plain text.
- Not naming the cloud. "Cloud experience" is vague - say AWS, Azure or GCP and the services you actually used.
Weak vs strong resume bullet points
The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.
Weak: Worked on CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
Strong: Built Jenkins pipelines with automated tests and Docker image builds for 15 microservices, taking releases from a manual weekly deployment to several deployments a day.
Weak: Used Terraform for infrastructure.
Strong: Wrote Terraform modules for VPCs, EKS clusters and RDS on AWS, so new environments for QA and UAT could be created in under an hour instead of two days of manual setup.
Weak: Responsible for monitoring.
Strong: Set up Prometheus and Grafana dashboards with alerting for the payments service, which helped the team catch failing pods before customers reported errors.

How can a fresher show DevOps skills without job experience?
Build one or two end-to-end projects - for example, a small web app with a GitHub Actions pipeline that builds a Docker image and deploys it to Kubernetes or a cloud VM using Terraform. Put the repo link on your resume and describe what each part does. Interviewers often ask you to walk through it.
Which certifications help a DevOps engineer resume?
Commonly recognised ones include AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate. A certification helps you get noticed, but recruiters still look for hands-on work in your bullets.
Is this resume checker free?
Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.
What does the checker look at?
It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.
What happens to my resume after I upload it?
It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
