Free ATS Resume Checker for QA and SDET Engineers
Recruiters hiring QA and SDET engineers usually shortlist on automation tools and a language - Selenium or Playwright with Java or Python, API testing with Postman or REST Assured - and then look for what your testing caught or made faster. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which QA skills it shows, and what to improve before you apply.
By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level
Fresher / 0-2 years
Show manual testing basics - test cases, bug reports, STLC - along with one automation tool and a language. A small framework on GitHub that tests a public website or API helps a lot.
2-5 years
Show automation you built or maintained - framework design, number of tests, CI integration - and results like shorter regression cycles or bugs caught before release.
5+ years
Show test strategy and ownership - framework architecture, test coverage decisions, performance or security testing, quality metrics you tracked and testers you mentored.
Common QA / SDET Engineer resume mistakes
- Only describing manual testing when you also write automation. If you have scripted tests, make that clear in the title and first bullets.
- Listing Selenium, Appium, JMeter and Cucumber with no sense of how much you used each. Say which you used on real projects.
- No results. Test count, regression time saved, defects caught or release frequency shows the value of your testing.
- Leaving out the domain - banking, healthcare, e-commerce or telecom testing knowledge is often a filter in QA roles.
- A heavily formatted template with tables for tools and projects. Many ATS tools misread these, so keep it to plain sections and lists.
Weak vs strong resume bullet points
The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.
Weak: Performed manual and automation testing.
Strong: Automated 350 regression test cases with Selenium, Java and TestNG for a net banking portal, cutting the regression cycle from about 4 days to 6 hours.
Weak: Did API testing using Postman.
Strong: Built an API test suite with REST Assured covering 80 endpoints and ran it in Jenkins on every build, catching contract breaks before they reached the UAT environment.
Weak: Logged bugs in Jira.
Strong: Found and reported 120+ defects in Jira during a payments release, including a rounding issue in refunds that would have affected customer settlements.

How do I move from manual testing to an automation or SDET role?
Learn one language (Java or Python) and one tool such as Selenium or Playwright, and automate part of your current project if you can. Put that work in your bullets with numbers, and add a small framework on GitHub. Update your headline so recruiters searching for automation testers find you.
Which skills should a QA engineer resume include?
Most roles ask for test case design, defect tracking in Jira, SQL basics and API testing with Postman. Automation roles add Selenium or Playwright, a programming language, TestNG or PyTest and CI tools like Jenkins. Only list what you have used on real work or projects.
Is this resume checker free?
Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.
What does the checker look at?
It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.
What happens to my resume after I upload it?
It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
