Free ATS Resume Checker for SAP ABAP Developers
Recruiters hiring SAP ABAP developers screen for the RICEF objects you have built, the SAP modules you supported and whether you have worked on S/4HANA. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which ABAP skills it finds, and what to fix before you apply.
By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level
Fresher / 0-2 years
Show the objects you have built - reports, ALV, SmartForms or Adobe Forms, simple enhancements - and the module they were for. Training projects are fine if you say clearly what you developed.
2-5 years
Group your work by RICEF type and module (SD, MM, FI, PP), and mention support versus implementation projects. Add CDS Views, OData services and performance tuning if you have done them.
5+ years
Show S/4HANA migration or greenfield work, custom code remediation, RAP or Fiori-related development, and technical design ownership. Mention code reviews, effort estimation and the team you led.
Common SAP ABAP Developer resume mistakes
- Listing every ABAP keyword and technique without saying which objects you delivered or for which module.
- Not stating the project type - implementation, rollout, upgrade or support. Recruiters filter on this.
- Hiding S/4HANA experience in one line. If you have it, make it clear in the summary and the project section.
- Copying the same project description for every client. Each project should show what you personally built.
- Long tables of project details that ATS software reads out of order. Use simple headings and bullets instead.
Weak vs strong resume bullet points
The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.
Weak: Developed ALV reports as per requirement.
Strong: Built 12 ALV reports for the MM team in an S/4HANA rollout, including a stock ageing report that replaced a weekly manual Excel extract.
Weak: Worked on performance tuning.
Strong: Tuned a slow billing report by replacing nested SELECTs with a CDS View and FOR ALL ENTRIES, bringing runtime from about 40 minutes to under 3.
Weak: Handled IDoc issues in support.
Strong: Resolved recurring inbound order IDoc failures by fixing a user exit mapping, clearing a backlog of 300+ failed IDocs and reducing related tickets over the next quarter.

Should I mention SAP modules on an ABAP developer resume?
Yes. Recruiters often search for ABAP plus a module, such as SD, MM or FI, because functional knowledge helps you understand requirements faster. Mention the modules you developed for, but do not claim functional consulting experience you do not have.
Is SAP certification needed for an ABAP developer job?
It is not required for most roles, but it can help freshers and people moving into SAP. SAP offers associate certifications for ABAP development, and the current exam names change over time, so check the SAP Learning site for the latest one. Project experience usually counts for more once you have a year or two of work.
Is this resume checker free?
Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.
What does the checker look at?
It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.
What happens to my resume after I upload it?
It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
