Free ATS Resume Checker for Finance & Accounts Professionals
Recruiters hiring for finance and accounts roles screen on qualifications such as CA, CMA or an MBA in finance, the accounting work you have handled - close, reporting, GST, reconciliations - and the ERP or software you used. Upload your resume to see how it reads, which finance skills it shows, and what to improve before you apply.
By uploading, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. Your CV is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in it, and that profile is visible to recruiters - even before you create an account.

What to highlight at your experience level
Fresher / 0-2 years
Show your qualification and articleship or internship clearly, then the hands-on work - bookkeeping in Tally, bank reconciliations, GST and TDS filings, or audit assignments. Name the industries of the clients you worked on.
2-5 years
Show the processes you owned - month-end close, AP or AR for a business unit, MIS reports, statutory audit support - and the systems you used. Mention timelines you met and errors or delays you reduced.
5+ years
Show scope and judgement - entities or revenue you were responsible for, budgets and forecasts you led, audits you managed, and process or system changes you drove. Mention the size of the team you led.
Common Finance & Accounts resume mistakes
- Writing "handled accounts" without saying which ones - AP, AR, GL, payroll, tax - and for what size of business.
- Leaving out the software. Tally, SAP, Oracle and advanced Excel are common filters, so name them in your skills and in the bullets.
- Not stating your qualification status clearly, such as "CA Inter cleared" or "CMA Final appearing".
- No sense of scale - number of entities, vendors, monthly transactions or turnover handled.
- A resume full of boxes, borders and tables. ATS software can jumble the text, so a clean single-column format works better.
Weak vs strong resume bullet points
The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.
Weak: Responsible for month-end closing.
Strong: Owned month-end close for two entities in SAP, including accruals, provisions and inter-company reconciliations, bringing the close from 8 working days to 5.
Weak: Did GST filing.
Strong: Prepared and filed monthly GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B for three state registrations, reconciling input credit against GSTR-2B and recovering credit that had been missed earlier.
Weak: Prepared budgets and MIS reports.
Strong: Built the annual budget and monthly variance report in Excel for a 40-crore business unit, flagging cost overruns that led management to renegotiate two vendor contracts.

Create a free accountFrequently asked questions
Should I mention CA Inter or CMA Inter on my resume?
Yes. Show each level you have cleared with the attempt and year, and the level you are pursuing. Many finance roles in India hire semi-qualified candidates, so clear qualification status helps recruiters shortlist you.
Is Tally enough for an accounts resume, or do I need SAP?
Tally is common in small and mid-sized companies and CA firms, while larger companies often use SAP or Oracle. List what you have used, and if you are aiming for bigger companies, learning the basics of SAP FICO or another ERP can help.
Is this resume checker free?
Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.
What does the checker look at?
It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.
What happens to my resume after I upload it?
It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
