What to highlight at your experience level

Fresher / 0-2 years

Show the area you want to grow in and the basics you know - Excel, an ERP such as SAP, inventory or purchase order work. Internships at a plant, warehouse or e-commerce company, or a live project, are worth describing in detail.

2-5 years

Show processes you ran and the numbers you moved - inventory days, fill rate, freight cost, supplier lead times. Name the categories, sites or lanes you handled and the ERP or WMS you used.

5+ years

Show network-level scope - S&OP you led, sourcing strategy for major categories, new warehouses or 3PL transitions, and cost programmes. Mention budgets, sites and team size.

Common Supply Chain & Operations resume mistakes

  • Calling yourself "operations" without saying which part - purchasing, planning, warehouse, transport or plant operations.
  • Describing duties instead of results. "Managed vendors" says less than "cut supplier lead time from 21 to 14 days".
  • Leaving out the ERP and tools you use. SAP MM, Oracle, WMS and advanced Excel are common keyword filters.
  • Not mentioning the industry - FMCG, pharma, automotive, e-commerce. Supply chain roles are often hired by industry.
  • Photos, charts and colourful templates that ATS software cannot read. Keep everything as plain text in one column.

Weak vs strong resume bullet points

The strong versions say what you did, with which tool, and what changed because of it.

Weak: Handled inventory management.

Strong: Set safety stock levels by SKU class in SAP for a 1,200-SKU FMCG depot, reducing stock-outs on fast movers while bringing inventory down from 45 to 32 days.

Weak: Worked on vendor negotiations.

Strong: Ran an RFQ for packaging materials across six suppliers and renegotiated annual rates, saving about Rs 60 lakh a year without changing quality specifications.

Weak: Managed logistics operations.

Strong: Reworked delivery routes and truck allocation for 3 regional warehouses with the transport vendor, improving on-time delivery and lowering freight cost per case.

Frequently asked questions

Which certification helps a supply chain resume?

APICS (ASCM) certifications such as CSCP and CPIM are well known in supply chain, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is valued in operations roles. For procurement, CIPS is recognised by many companies. They help most when combined with clear results from your work.

How do I show SAP experience on a supply chain resume?

Name the module, such as SAP MM, SD, PP or WM, and the transactions or processes you handled - purchase orders, goods receipts, MRP runs. Recruiters can tell the difference between using SAP daily and configuring it, so describe your level honestly.

Is this resume checker free?

Yes. You can upload your resume and see the results without creating an account. If you sign up later with the same email, the full report and your job matches are saved to your profile.

What does the checker look at?

It reads your resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would: the role it fits, your experience level, the skills it finds, and how clearly your work and results come across. You get strengths and areas to improve.

What happens to my resume after I upload it?

It is saved to a RoleMapr profile under the email in your resume, and that profile is visible to recruiters looking for candidates. We email that address a link to remove it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
